Privacy Policy
Effective August 10, 2026. This operational beta notice describes the limited information US Land Use collects to provide and protect the service.
Information collected
When you request access, we collect your email address, verification status, API-key metadata, request counts, timestamps, and abuse-prevention records. Abuse records use a keyed hash of the source IP address, a coarse request outcome, and a 30-day retention period. We do not intentionally collect precise location, full browser fingerprints, or advertising identifiers.
Use and sharing
We use this information to deliver keys, operate quotas, secure the API, respond to support requests, and improve reliability. We send the designated project administrator a notice when a new signup is accepted and aggregate daily usage reports; those notices do not include API keys or verification tokens. Transactional email is sent through Amazon SES. We do not sell signup information.
Public API records may contain names, addresses, parcel identifiers, and other fields published in municipal or dataset records. We normalize and link to those sources; do not treat the API as a private-person directory.
The signup page uses Cloudflare Turnstile and the API documentation loads Swagger UI assets from a third-party CDN. Those providers may process request or device data under their own policies. We receive the CAPTCHA verification result and do not control the providers' independent processing.
Retention and requests
Email and account records are retained while needed to operate beta access. Request deletion or ask questions by contacting support@uslanduse.com. We will verify the request and respond as reasonably required by applicable law.
